Based on 145 reviewsBraunston Fryer is widely praised for its exceptional fish and chips, noted for fresh, generously sized portions and chips cooked in beef dripping, delivering authentic flavor without greasiness. Customers consistently highlight the friendly and accommodating service, with the owner’s charm frequently mentioned as a positive aspect. A hidden and unassuming gem. Owner very friendly and amenable. Food was outstanding! Best fish and chips we’ve had in quite a while. Cash only.
Loved these fish and chips. They were super tasty and not at all greasy. The only downside is that you have to pay by cash but you can get cash back at the Wheatsheaf. You can also eat your chips at the pub too!
Chips cooked in beef dripping what more could you need. Service was friendly and food cooked fresh to order.
Great place to get food. the only downside is cash only. When we called, we only had around 3.00 cash, we left with large chips and a pea fritter, and the owner said when you come back, pay for the fritter. Great customer service Ps we did go back for another takeaway and paid for the fritter
We stopped in here a while ago. What a great Fish &Chips shop. Fish freshly fried up quickly in front of you. Chips were great. Huge portion, great for a second fry up of left overs. Charming owner. The Wheatsheaf pub near by doesn't serve food, so one can take your Fish & Chips there to enjoy with a bevvie. Highly recommend.
Someone needs to explain to all of the 'these chips are re-fried' reviews that these are actually propper chips, not some cash and carry frozen crap! Truly excellent best fish and chips ever and i live near the coast.
Excellent fish and chips
Absolutely the best fish and chips I’ve ever tried! The fish was perfectly cooked, tender, and fresh, while the chips were golden and crispy. To top it off, the customer service was fantastic – friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
